The M&M Special pitching horseshoe was first seen on the horseshoe courts way back in 1986. . The M&M Special Horseshoe is the original "M" shaped horseshoe often imitated but never duplicated. The M&M Special Horseshoe is designed for maximum comfort, reliability and perfect balance. The front end of the M&M Special features large 1 inch diameter hooks for super grabbing action. The middle of the M&M Special horseshoe features a large unique shaped ringer breaker which not only helps to keep the the horseshoe around the stake when thrown for a ringer, but is designed to fit the shape of a pitchers fingers when pitched by a flip pitcher. The M&M Special Horseshoe was the first center balanced horseshoe ever. In the year the M&M Special was released Sandy McLachlin from Canada pitched the M&M Special to win the Women's World Championship and shatter all the records. Some of those records will probably never be broken. From that day on the M&M Special has been one of the top selling horseshoes and even after 35 years is very popular. At the largest World Horseshoe pitching Tournament ever held in 1997 (1740 participants) almost one in every four pitchers making up the Championship groups pitched the M&M Special, truly a remarkable feat when you consider there are over 50 differ ant models of pitching horseshoe available. To date the M&M Special horseshoe was pitched to win 16 World Horseshoe Pitching titles nine using the turn and seven World Horseshoe Pitching titles using the flip. Along with the many world titles the M&M Special has also been used to set many world records. The most prominent records are complete tournament 88.2% (1 1/4 turn),World Tournament qualifying 89.7% (1 1/4 turn) , most 90% games complete tournament seven (1 1/4 turn) consecutive ringers 60 (flip) The M&M Special pitching horseshoe is one of the only horseshoes pitched for an average above 87% in the World Tournament by more than one horseshoe pitcher. One of the things besides our designs which sets us apart from the others is we still paint each pair of horseshoes by hand. This allows us to offer custom color combinations, you pick it, we paint, it it's that simple. So as your checking out you can chose to customize your order or if you need them in a hurry or don't have any special preference select random colors. Random will typically be painted blue, red, black or green with contrasting tips. For custom colors selections your order would typically be in the mail within 5 days of order.
