Copyright Information
As an Internet Service Provider Internet Kent is required to follow the Notice and Notice Regime in the Copyright Modernization Act that came into force January 2, 2015.
When Internet Kent receives a copyright infringement notice for a copyright holder that one of our users is allegedly downloading or uploading copyrighted material, we are required to forward that notice to the user.
An active email address is required for all Internet Kent users.
We do not provide any personal information about the user unless ordered to do so by court.
The Notice and Notice Regime is used to discourage users from illegally downloading or sharing a song or movie.
The user is under no obligation to respond to the notice and no further action is required unless the copyright owner decides to sue. We do not provide legal advice.
We are required to keep this information for 6 months; longer if it goes to court.
